Labour Party Official Claims Peter Obi Uses Four Different Names
Abayomi Arabambi, the factional National Vice Chairman (South‑West) of the Labour Party, has raised fresh allegations against former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi, stating that the politician has used four different versions of his name in various official documents.
According to Arabambi, some of the documents bearing these name variations were filled out personally by Obi, while others originate from records held at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. He insists that the discrepancies are not merely clerical errors but point to a pattern of inconsistent official records.
The Labour Party chieftain explained that Obi appeared as “Peter Obi” on one self‑completed form, as “Obi Peter Gregory” on another, and later as “Peter Gregory Onwubuasi Obi” on his University of Nsukka certificate. Arabambi argues that such variations undermine the expectation that individuals seeking public office maintain uniform and verifiable personal data.
Arabambi further stated that the alleged inconsistencies deserve public scrutiny and should be clarified by Obi. He emphasized that transparency regarding personal identifiers is essential for maintaining trust in the electoral process and the integrity of candidates.
The accusations have sparked debate among political analysts and supporters, with some calling for a thorough investigation into the former presidential candidate’s documentation, while others dismiss the claims as politically motivated.
