NNPP Confirms INEC Has Begun Issuing Access Codes for Osun Off‑Cycle Governorship Election
The National Secretary of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Dipo Olayoku, said the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has started issuing access codes to political parties for the upcoming Osun State off‑cycle governorship election.
Speaking with Vanguard, Olayoku added that he was not certain whether INEC had already begun distributing the codes for the 2027 presidential and general elections, noting that the commission had promised to start the process yesterday.
He commended INEC for working under pressure, pointing out the heavy workload stemming from the 2026 Electoral Act, the recent off‑cycle election in Ekiti State, and bye‑elections in six other states.
Olayoku also warned that internal party litigations are creating further distractions for the commission, but urged stakeholders to acknowledge INEC’s efforts amid the challenging environment.
