Daniel Bwala, Special Adviser on Policy Communication and Media to President Bola Tinubu, has accused the NDC presidential candidate, Peter Obi, of reacting negatively whenever Nigeria records progress under the current government.
He said Obi frequently expresses displeasure about developments in the country despite aspiring to lead it in the future, questioning why positive governance changes provoke criticism from the former Anambra governor.
Bwala also argued that Obi has shifted his stance on several key national issues.
He noted that before the 2023 elections, Obi publicly supported measures such as fuel subsidy removal, the establishment of state police, and a unified foreign exchange system, but now opposes them after they were implemented by Tinubu’s administration.
In his statement, Bwala wrote: “I don’t know why anytime Nigeria makes progress, it angers Peter Obi @PeterObi why? It is the same Nigeria he is seeking to govern in his wild goose chase. It may be right to say that the only person he listens to is the mad man on Opi‑iweka road.”
He continued: “Before the 2023 elections, he said he would remove the subsidy; we did, and now he says he will not. He said he would create state police; we did, and he is saying he will not. He said he would unify the foreign exchange; we did, and now he says he will not. It appears he does not even know what he plans for Nigeria.”
