Zubby Michael Fires Back at Fan Questioning His Absence from Alex Ekubo’s Burial
Nollywood actor Zubby Michael has lashed out at a fan who criticised his absence from the burial service held for late actor Alex Ekubo.
The fan wrote on social media that Zubby missed the ceremony, noting that his peers were present.
Zubby’s terse reply was “Thunder fire You.”
Alex Ekubo passed away in May 2026 after a battle with advanced metastatic kidney cancer. His funeral rites included a service of songs in Lagos on June 10, a wake in his hometown on June 17, and the final interment on June 18 at Mary Slessor School in Arochukwu.
Family, friends, colleagues and fans gathered to pay their last respects before his body was laid to rest at the family compound, followed by a reception for mourners.
Remembered for his romantic and comedy roles, Ekubo left a lasting legacy in Nollywood after nearly two decades and over 100 film appearances.
