Three Teams Eliminated from 2026 FIFA World Cup
Tunisia’s 2026 FIFA World Cup campaign ended abruptly on Sunday after a heavy 4‑0 loss to Japan in Monterrey, marking the third nation to be knocked out of the tournament.
The Carthage Eagles had already suffered a 5‑1 defeat to Sweden in their opening Group F match, leaving them with zero points after two games. Even with one match remaining, the maximum three points they could earn are insufficient to reach the Round of 32.
Tunisia’s exit followed the early eliminations of Haiti and Türkiye.
In Philadelphia, five‑time champions Brazil secured a comfortable 3‑0 victory over Haiti in Group C, leaving the Caribbean side at the bottom of the group with no points and a goal difference of minus four.
Haiti will still face Morocco on June 24, but that match will have no impact on qualification.
Türkiye’s World Cup journey also ended early after a 1‑0 defeat to Paraguay at the San Francisco Bay Area Stadium in Group D.
