A married woman turned to social media for advice after allegedly finding a condom wrapper and a hotel receipt showing a ₦360,000 charge in her husband’s clothing, casting doubt on his explanation.

“I didn’t want to appear as an insecure spouse” – Woman’s Statement
She said her husband arrived home smelling of a feminine fragrance. Although suspicious, she chose not to voice her concerns to avoid seeming insecure.
While laundering his clothes, she examined the items he had removed and discovered two pieces that intensified her doubts.
“My husband came home last night smelling feminine. That isn’t his cologne. I didn’t want to seem like an insecure wife, so I stayed calm. I took his clothes to the washing machine while I was already doing laundry when he entered. I noticed a CD inside the bag but not the usual one. I went inside and found a hotel receipt. He spent 360k,” she wrote.
Husband’s Explanation of the ₦360k Hotel Receipt
When she confronted him, he claimed the hotel stay was covered by a voucher he allegedly received from MTN.
She recalled asking him, and he responded, “Do you remember when I told you on Saturday I was heading to the MTN office?” She confirmed. He said they gave him a voucher to cash out money, but it could only be used for lodging. She questioned why he didn’t inform her, and he said he was hoping to get some money returned, but upon arrival they told him the voucher could only be used for a hotel stay.”
Husband’s Response to the Condom Wrapper
She also questioned him about the condom wrapper she allegedly found.
He said an MTN manager had given it to him to discard on his way out, but he forgot to throw it away. She stated, “I showed him the condom wrapper and asked about it. He said an MTN manager gave it to him to dispose of, but he forgot. I am now uncertain what to believe.”
Woman Seeks Clarification from MTN Employees
She appealed to anyone familiar with MTN’s customer loyalty programs to verify whether such hotel vouchers exist.
“I am still unsure what to trust. Does anyone who works at MTN know if there is a voucher for loyal customers? I am very worried,” she wrote.
The post has since gone viral, generating a range of reactions from social media users.
