TikTok content creator Habeeb Hamzat, widely known as Peller, has come forward with a serious allegation that his former football coach sexually abused him during his teenage years.
According to Peller, the abuse took place when he was between 14 and 15 years old. He says the experience shattered his dream of becoming a professional footballer and forced him to quit the sport entirely.
Alleged Incidents and Promises of Playing Time
Peller recounted that the team would gather at an unfinished building before heading to the pitch for training. Players who arrived late were usually fined, but he often could not pay the fine, making him a frequent target of the coach’s attention.
He alleged that the coach would instruct the other players to go to the field while telling him to stay behind because he was late. Then the coach would call him closer and start pressing his breasts.
In another incident, Peller said the coach invited him to a one‑room apartment in Agric, Ikorodu, under the pretence of helping him collect an item. When Peller arrived and handed over the item, the coach allegedly removed his clothes and asked him to get onto the bed.
Peller claimed he responded, “Come to the bed? I only came to bring what you asked for.” The coach then allegedly tried to persuade him by promising more playing time, saying he would allow Peller to play full matches.
After noticing some children playing football nearby, Peller stepped outside to join them briefly. This reportedly angered the coach, who called him back into the room and locked the door.
Sensing danger, Peller told the coach he needed to urinate. As soon as the door was unlocked, he seized the chance to flee and never returned to the team.
Impact on His Career and Transition to Content Creation
The alleged abuse left Peller unable to continue football, pushing him toward alternative pursuits. He said the experience led him to discover livestreaming, which he described as his “tap, tap, tap” journey.
In the early days of his online career, Peller attracted only two or three viewers. His breakthrough came after meeting fellow creator Jarvis, whose collaborations helped boost his popularity.
