Super Falcons Kick Off 2026 WAFCON Preparations in Casablanca
Nigeria’s Super Falcons have commenced their training camp in Casablanca as part of the build‑up to the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON). Head coach Justine Madugu announced a 25‑player squad on Friday, with all players expected to report on Monday.
Road to Rabat and Group C Fixtures
The nine‑time African champions will spend the next phase of their preparations in Casablanca before travelling to Rabat for their Group C matches. Nigeria aims for an historic 11th WAFCON title, reinforcing its dominance in continental women’s football.
Group C Opponents and Match Schedule
Drawn alongside debutants Malawi, Zambia and Egypt, the Super Falcons open their campaign against Malawi’s Scorchers at Al Madina Stadium in Rabat on Tuesday, 28 July. They will face Zambia’s Copper Queens on Saturday, 1 August at the same venue, and conclude the group stage against Egypt at the Olympic Stadium in Rabat on Wednesday, 5 August.
World Cup Qualification Stakes
The tournament also serves as the African qualifier for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil, with the top four teams earning automatic berths.
