Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has secured the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ticket for the Kogi Central Senatorial District ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Her Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mike Idoko, announced this in a statement issued on Thursday in Abuja.
Idoko explained that party members and supporters took part in the affirmation exercise across all 57 wards in the senatorial district.
The exercise took place simultaneously in every ward. Officials later collated the results at Kahal Cinema in Okene. Party leaders, stakeholders, and supporters gathered there to finalise the process.
The statement added that Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) officials monitored the exercise. Media representatives were also present to ensure transparency and due process.
After the collation, Natasha thanked party members and supporters for what she called an overwhelming show of confidence and unity.
“This affirmation reflects the trust and confidence the people of Kogi Central have placed in our collective vision for progress, inclusion and development,” she said.
The lawmaker noted that the turnout across the district showed the party members’ dedication to strengthening democracy.
“I am deeply humbled by the massive turnout across all 57 wards. This is not about one individual; it is about our people uniting to deepen democracy and build a stronger, more prosperous Kogi Central,” she stated.
Natasha also assured supporters that she would represent the district’s interests and stay closely engaged with communities across the senatorial zone.
“I accept this responsibility with gratitude and renewed commitment. By the grace of God and with your continued support, we will remain focused on delivering sustainable development, justice and opportunities for everyone,” she added.
