A Nigerian woman took to social media to voice her anguish after claiming that her FirstBank account was drained of millions of naira, leaving a mere ₦194 balance.
In a widely circulated video, the distressed female explained that she maintains three banking profiles—Moniepoint, Opay, and FirstBank—but stores the majority of her savings in the FirstBank account. She recounted that she first sensed irregularity on Thursday while attempting to log in at the market.
She stated, in her own words:
“This morning I decided to check my balance since I hold accounts with Moniepoint, Opay, and my primary FirstBank. I usually keep all my funds in FirstBank, which is my main account. When I tried to sign in on Thursday, the system repeatedly rejected my password and even locked me out.”
Initially, she brushed off the issue, finding it implausible that someone could breach her account.
However, upon reviewing the account the next morning, she asserted that virtually all funds had been removed, leaving only ₦194. She characterized the missing amount as her life savings and expressed profound devastation.
“I checked this morning and discovered that my account had been completely wiped out. The remaining balance is just ₦194. ₦194. The perpetrator took every naira from my account. How could someone be so cruel? I have no idea where to begin. My millions, my entire life savings, have vanished,” she lamented.
Since the video went viral, numerous Nigerians have expressed sympathy online and urged her to report the incident promptly to FirstBank and the appropriate law‑enforcement agencies.
