Nigerian‑British entrepreneur Nana Otedola, wife of billionaire Femi Otedola, has responded to ongoing rumors that she is Ghanaian.
She explained that the misunderstanding likely stems from her name and appearance, but she is unequivocally Nigerian.
Proud Egba Heritage
“To clear the room for everybody, I’m an Egba woman, and that’s the part I’ll gladly claim as a Nigerian. I am not a Ghanaian; my roots are in Abeokuta,” she said.
Early Life in Kaduna
Nana added that the confusion may also be linked to her upbringing. She was born in Kaduna State and lived there for nearly two decades, which may have influenced how others perceive her identity.
“I was born in Kaduna and lived there for almost two decades,” she noted.
Identity Rooted in Nigerian Soil
Despite her long stay in the north, Nana emphasized that her identity remains firmly anchored in Egba land, reaffirming her pride in being a Nigerian.
