Former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has announced that he will assume the position of Germany’s head coach within the next few days. He stated that the official announcement is expected shortly, saying, “We’re not that far away from being able to make an announcement. Ideally, in the next few days.”
The 59‑year‑old tactician, who has served as Sporting Director at Red Bull since departing Liverpool in summer 2024, is set to succeed Julian Nagelsmann. Nagelsmann left the role after Germany’s penalty‑shoot‑out loss to Paraguay at the 2026 World Cup.
