Governor Radda Explains Tinubu’s Decision to Keep Shettima
The Governor of Katsina State, Dikko Umaru Radda, said President Bola Tinubu retained Vice President Kashim Shettima as his running mate for the 2027 presidential election because of Shettima’s loyalty, strong performance and unwavering commitment to the administration.
Radda explained that the decision reflects Tinubu’s confidence in Shettima’s contributions to governance and the trust he has earned within the government.
He described the Vice President as a dedicated public servant whose track record justified his retention on the All Progressives Congress ticket.
Since assuming office in 2023, Shettima has carried out his duties with diligence and loyalty, according to the governor.
“Vice President Shettima has served with diligence and the President’s decision to retain him speaks to his performance and his loyalty,” Radda stated.
Key Responsibilities Highlighted by the Governor
Radda noted that Shettima currently chairs the Presidential Committee on Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises and has been actively involved in initiatives aimed at improving energy security and shaping the administration’s economic policies.
These assignments require considerable administrative experience, sound political judgment and the ability to coordinate across different sectors.
The President’s choice to retain Shettima indicates satisfaction with his handling of these responsibilities, Radda said.
He congratulated Shettima on behalf of the Katsina government and its people, describing the retention as recognition of dedication and national service.
Radda expressed optimism that Shettima will continue to make meaningful contributions if re‑elected in 2027, strengthening the administration’s development agenda and consolidating the gains of its first term.
He wished President Tinubu and Vice President Shettima success in the 2027 election, confident that the APC ticket will retain the support of party members and Nigerians alike.
