Bambam Defends Personal Assistant After Phone Theft at Alex Ekubo Service of Songs
Reality TV star Olawunmi Adenibuyan, popularly known as Bambam, has reacted to the phone theft incident that occurred during the service of songs held in honour of late actor Alex Ekubo in Lagos.
She clarified that the woman captured on video removing a phone from her bag was her personal assistant, not the individual responsible for the disappearance of her device.
Bambam said she only realised her phone was missing after leaving the venue and getting into her car.
The mother of two noted that many attendees approached her for greetings and photographs, making it difficult to pinpoint exactly when the device disappeared.
The former Big Brother Naija housemate added that her initial concern was the data stored on the phone.
“I got into my car and noticed my phone wasn’t with me. The video circulating around of a lady removing a phone from my bag. That was my personal assistant. Probably while we were hugging and exchanging pleasantries or at any point cause some people came and wanted to take selfie, it was really odd that people wanted to take selfies during the event.
“First thing that hit me was compassion. I was really sad that my contacts, my videos..a lot of my photos and videos weren’t backed up on the cloud. The next thing I felt was compassion. What would make any human being consider a service of songs a place to rob? And it wasn’t just my phone that was stolen. My friends, and I think even one of Alex’s brother’s phone too and then another guy. It was sad…..
“What would make any human being come to such a place and steal people’s phones? It wasn’t only mine; my friend and another man also lost theirs. You people should stop dragging my PA, she didn’t steal it from me.”
