Arsenal Confirm Permanent Transfer of Leandro Trossard to Besiktas
Arsenal have reached an agreement with Turkish giants Besiktas for the permanent transfer of Belgian forward Leandro Trossard. The club announced the deal in an official statement released on July 14.
The 31‑year‑old attacker has been given permission to travel to Istanbul to undergo a medical examination and complete the formalities of his move to the Turkish Super Lig side.
According to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, Arsenal will receive an initial €18 million, with a further €2 million payable in performance‑related add‑ons, bringing the total potential value to €20 million (approximately £17 million).
Besiktas also confirmed that Trossard is expected to arrive at Istanbul’s Atatürk Airport on Tuesday evening to finalise the transfer.
During his three‑and‑a‑half‑year stay at the Emirates, Trossard made 174 appearances for the Gunners, scoring 36 goals. He played a pivotal role in Mikel Arteta’s squad last season, contributing eight goals and 11 assists in 50 matches across all competitions as Arsenal clinched the Premier League title and finished as runners‑up in the UEFA Champions League.
His departure is expected to accelerate Arsenal’s search for reinforcements on the left wing, with players such as Morgan Rogers, Bradley Barcola and Christos Tzolis already linked with the club during the ongoing summer transfer window.
