APM Blames APC for Governing Nigeria Without Economic Blueprint
The Allied People’s Movement (APM) has accused the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) of steering Nigeria without a coherent economic plan, describing the current administration as confused, careless, and rudderless.
According to the party, this leadership style has produced severe economic hardship, soaring unemployment, rampant inflation, deteriorating infrastructure, and growing insecurity across the nation.
APM asserts that Nigerians deserve a better deal and promises to unveil a comprehensive governance blueprint at the appropriate time.
The statement highlighted alarming statistics: in the last three years, over 628,000 Nigerians have been killed and more than 2.2 million people, including women and children, have been abducted. Poverty now affects 63 % of the population, with unemployment exceeding 33 %, leaving over 140 million Nigerians below the poverty line.
In addition, worsening insecurity, collapsed public services, and inflation driven by unhealthy taxes have forced many multinational companies to leave Nigeria. The “Japa” exodus has seen more than 3.7 million youths and professionals flee the country, creating a severe brain drain, especially in education and health sectors.
APM says it has crafted a pragmatic, wide‑ranging governance plan designed to revive the productive sector, rebuild critical infrastructure, revitalise the ailing economy, and pull the nation back from the brink of collapse while restoring dignity and comfort to all citizens.
The blueprint also aims to overhaul the country’s broken security architecture, curb terrorism, and guarantee the safety of lives and property nationwide.
“Nigerians are heavily frustrated and agitated by poor leadership; they earnestly seek a new beginning,” the statement reads. “APM, with its ideological foundation, structure and composition, is the only platform that can deliver that solution and usher in a fresh start.”
The party promises a transparent, people‑first approach to governance that prioritises inclusive human development, prudent resource management, industrialisation, massive youth employment, a national infrastructural revolution, efficient public service, and sustainable prosperity for all.
