APC Candidate Expresses Confidence in 2027 Election Win
The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Kwara State, Rt. Hon. Yakubu Danladi Salihu, has declared that the party will secure victory in the 2027 general elections at every level. Speaking during a tour of Ekiti and Oke Ero Local Government Areas, he called on opposition members and disaffected politicians to rejoin the ruling party ahead of the anticipated polls.
Tour of Ekiti and Oke Ero Local Government Areas
The delegation, which included APC State Chairman Prince Sunday Fagbemi, party leaders, and various support groups, began its outreach with visits to Ekiti and Oke Ero LGAs. There, they met traditional rulers, party officials, and grassroots supporters.
Town Hall Meeting in Ekiti
At a well‑attended town hall meeting in Ekiti, Danladi thanked party members for their support during the primaries and appealed for continued backing for the APC ticket, ranging from presidential candidate Bola Ahmed Tinubu down to the State House of Assembly.
He noted that the strong turnout, despite short notice, demonstrated the confidence and solidarity of the people with the APC.
Promise to Build on Existing Achievements
The candidate pledged that the next APC administration would build on the accomplishments of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s government, focusing on infrastructure, human capital development, inclusive governance, and support for traditional institutions.
Use of the Yoruba Term “Efokanbale”
While urging aggrieved politicians and opposition figures to return to the APC, Danladi employed the Yoruba word “Efokanbale,” meaning “be assured,” to affirm that the party will win the forthcoming elections.
“‘Efokanbale.’ APC is winning the 2027 elections in Kwara from top to bottom. Let’s talk to our neighbours and those who have missed the road to come back to the winning team,” he declared, adding that there is still room on the train for everyone to join.
Remarks by APC State Chairman
APC State Chairman Prince Sunday Fagbemi echoed the optimism, stating that there is no genuine reason for anyone to oppose Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, whom he described as a leader who has positively impacted every ward in the state.
Fagbemi highlighted specific projects undertaken by the current administration, including the take‑off of the Kwara State University campus in Osi, the reconstruction of the Osi‑Obbo Aiyegunle road, and the return of the House of Representatives seat to the Ekiti axis. He urged residents to reward these efforts by voting massively for APC candidates in 2027.
Traditional Rulers’ Blessings and Appeals
The Olosi of Osi and Chairman of the Ekiti Traditional Council, Oba Saliu Abdulkareem Adasofegbe, and the Alofa of Ilofa and Chairman of the Oke Ero Traditional Council, Oba Samuel Niyi Dada, welcomed the APC delegation. Other traditional rulers from the two LGAs also attended, offering prayers and royal blessings for the candidates.
The monarchs praised Governor AbdulRazaq for what they described as remarkable development across Kwara State over the past seven years and prayed for the success of APC candidates in the 2027 elections. However, they reminded future office‑holders not to neglect traditional institutions after assuming elective positions.
The Olosi appealed, “Once you are elected, don’t forget the traditional rulers. Take care of us because where some of us are living…”
Support from Other APC Figures
APC senatorial candidate for Kwara South, Prince Lekan Adewoye, thanked residents of Ekiti and Oke Ero for their continued support and promised to prioritize the needs and development of the senatorial district if elected in 2027.
Hon. Abolarin Ganiyu Gabriel, member representing Ekiti Constituency in the Kwara State House of Assembly, urged residents to sustain their backing for the APC.
Elder Dele Aina and Engr. Ogunmola described Ekiti as a stronghold of the APC and pledged their continued support for all party candidates in the 2027 general elections.
