Ange Postecoglou Appointed Al-Nassr Head Coach
Former Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou has returned to management after being named the new head coach of Saudi Pro League champions Al-Nassr on a two-year contract.
The club announced the appointment on July 3, sharing on social media: “It’s official: Mr Ange Postecoglou is the new Head Coach of @AlNassrFC. He signed a contract for 2 seasons. Welcome, Gaffer!”
The 60-year-old Australian takes over a side captained by Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo, succeeding Jorge Jesus, who departed after guiding Al-Nassr to the Saudi Pro League title last season.
Postecoglou had been without a coaching role for nine months following his exit from Tottenham Hotspur in May 2025, after leading the club to Europa League success. He later had a brief spell with Nottingham Forest.
His move to Saudi Arabia comes shortly after he was linked with the Scotland national team vacancy amid speculation over Steve Clarke’s future, although his salary demands were reported to have made a deal unlikely.
The former Celtic boss now embarks on a new challenge in the Middle East, adding to a distinguished career that includes successful tenures with Australia, Yokohama F. Marinos and Celtic.
