ADC Names Rotimi Amaechi as Vice‑Presidential Candidate for 2027
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has announced that former Rivers State Governor and ex‑Minister of Transportation, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, will serve as its vice‑presidential candidate in the 2027 general election. He will run alongside former Vice President Atiku Abubakar on what the party describes as a “unity and rescue ticket.”
Party leaders said Amaechi’s extensive resume — former Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, two‑term governor of Rivers State, and former Minister of Transportation — gives him the legislative and executive experience needed to strengthen Atiku’s leadership and broaden the party’s national appeal.
