Brazil Beat Haiti 3-0 in World Cup Qualifier
Five‑time world champions Brazil continued their impressive World Cup qualifying campaign with a commanding 3‑0 victory over Haiti. From the opening whistle Brazil controlled possession, created the better chances and overwhelmed their Caribbean opponents with superior attacking quality.
The breakthrough came in the 23rd minute. Vinicius Junior’s initial effort was saved by Haiti goalkeeper Johny Placide, but Matheus Cunha reacted fastest to the rebound inside the penalty area and calmly slotted the ball into an empty net. A brief VAR check for a possible offside confirmed the goal.
Brazil doubled their lead just over ten minutes later. Vinicius Junior played a clever through ball that released Cunha inside the box; the striker fired a clinical finish into the top corner to make it 2‑0.
Haiti struggled to cope with Brazil’s fluid attacking movement. Vinicius Junior, Raphinha and Lucas Paqueta constantly threatened the Haitian defence, creating numerous problems for the Caribbean side.
In first‑half stoppage time Vinicius Junior capped an impressive display with a goal. He received a neat pass from Paqueta inside the area and finished calmly from close range to send Brazil into the break with a commanding three‑goal lead.
After the restart Haiti showed more resilience, creating occasional threats through Dominique Simon, Wilson Isidor and Jean‑Kevin Duverne. The visitors appealed for a penalty midway through the second half after a challenge inside the box, but referee Alejandro Hernandez waved away the protests.
Brazil’s goalkeeper Alisson was forced into several saves, including stopping a powerful long‑range effort from Simon late in the game. Despite the pressure, the Seleção remained dangerous on the counter.
Endrick had a goal ruled out for offside, while substitute Ederson came close to adding to the scoreline as coach Ancelotti rotated his squad. The match also saw a setback when Raphinha was forced off before halftime due to injury and replaced by Rayan.
In front of 68,324 spectators Brazil saw out the match comfortably. The defeat ended Haiti’s World Cup qualifying campaign, following their earlier loss in the tournament.
