An Uber driver has ignited online discussion after recounting certain encounters he claims to have had while driving women riders.
He says he has observed a recurring trend where some female passengers inform their partners they are attending one type of event, yet actually go elsewhere.
He remarked, “This isn’t the first, second, or even third occasion I’ve picked up a woman who claims she’s heading to a gathering; the tactic is identical, the individuals vary, but the deception remains the same.”
The driver asserted that some women tell their boyfriends they are going to a birthday celebration, office meet‑up, or casual get‑together, only for him to later learn they were headed to a different destination.
He added that many of them prepare alibis beforehand, claiming that loud music at the venue will prevent them from taking calls, thereby reducing suspicion and discouraging their partners from checking in.
He continued, “They will tell their boyfriend, ‘When I arrive it will be noisy and we may not be able to speak until tomorrow.’ Yet once we reach the spot, the man they intended to meet appears and settles the fare.”
The driver’s statements have provoked a mixed reaction online; while some users agree with his observations, others contend that his anecdotes do not reflect the behavior of all women.
He also noted that various incidents he has witnessed since becoming a ride‑hailing operator have led him to question the prospects of marriage, admitting that certain episodes still leave him astonished.

“Everytime girls say I want to go to see my friend or go to the club with the girls, they will tell their boyfriend it’ll be noisy at the club so they can’t be able to talk so he won’t call them & then when we reach the destination it’s another man they come to see & it’s always… pic.twitter.com/kf1BuZNXww”
