Nkechi Blessing Responds to Critics Over Baba Ijesha Marriage Claims
Nollywood actress Nkechi Blessing Sunday has lashed out at critics who attacked her for doubting the recent marriage and child announcement of convicted actor Olanrewaju Omiyinka, popularly known as Baba Ijesha.
Baba Ijesha welcomed a son with fashion designer Abiodun Folashade Tokunbo, widely recognised as CEO Luminee. The news broke on social media in November 2025, shortly after his release from jail, prompting a flood of reactions — from congratulatory messages to outright disbelief.
Reacting to the announcement on CEO Luminee’s Instagram page, Blessing openly questioned the validity of the news, commenting that she wondered whether she was expected to write “congratulations.” She later shared a video expressing her shock and speculating whether the images and videos might have been generated by artificial intelligence.
Her scepticism ignited a wave of criticism. Trolls flooded her comment section, accusing her of overstepping her moral bounds and reminding her of her own dating history, claiming she had “changed men like clothes.”
Unfazed, Blessing fired back via her own Instagram account. She acknowledged her past relationships but delivered a pointed rebuttal:
“I indeed have dated men, but at least none of them could be said to be a paedophile.”
The actress emphasized that her surprise at Baba Ijesha’s situation does not equate to moral judgement, and she maintains the right to question news that appears dubious, especially when it involves a convicted individual.
