Social media activist VeryDarkMan has strongly reacted to Pastor David Ibiyeomie’s recent comments suggesting that Nigeria could be turned into an Islamic state.
Speaking on his Instagram page, he warned that such statements, if not properly explained, could create religious misunderstanding and deepen divisions among Nigerians.

He cautioned that followers might misinterpret the sermon, believing that Muslims share a unified agenda to Islamize Nigeria, which he said is far from reality.
According to him, insecurity affects both Christians and Muslims in Nigeria, and terrorism should not be framed as a religious issue.

He remarked, “This kind of preaching by David Ibiyeomie is very dangerous, especially when not properly explained. With this message, about 80–90% of congregants leave church thinking Muslims are collectively pushing to Islamize Nigeria.”
He added that many Muslim communities in northern Nigeria have suffered heavily from terrorist attacks, emphasizing that victims cut across all faiths.
He said, “Chibok is in Borno State, a Muslim‑majority area; Zamfara is also Muslim‑majority, where 16 farmers were killed yesterday. Those accused of seeking to Islamize Nigeria are also killing Muslims.”
VDM stressed that Boko Haram and other extremist groups have targeted both churches and mosques, insisting the core problem is terrorism, not religion.
He cited instances where Islamic clerics who opposed Boko Haram were killed by the group, including attacks inside mosques.
These comments arise amid ongoing debates about religion, insecurity, and national unity, with Nigerians urging clearer dialogue and collective action against terrorism.
