A pastor from Edo State, Caleb Adavize Philip, shared the harrowing ordeal he and his loved ones faced following their seizure by kidnappers.
He disclosed that he, his spouse and his sister were seized and detained for several days, with the abductors demanding a fifty‑million‑naira ransom for their freedom.

On June 11, 2026, he uploaded pictures to Facebook capturing him, his wife and his sister undergoing treatment in a medical facility soon after they were released.
The photos illustrate the toll of the harsh conditions they suffered while in captivity.
Pastor Describes the Ordeal of Captivity
Recalling the ordeal, he characterized the time as marked by fear, emotional anguish and physical pain, stating that the worst prayer one could utter against an enemy is to wish them kidnapping.
He emphasized that he would never wish such an ordeal on anyone.
“I cannot shake the memory of how we were taken—myself, my wife and my sister—held for days while the kidnappers demanded fifty million naira,” he wrote.
“The most severe curse one could invoke upon an adversary is to have them abducted; that, he said, is the ultimate.”
“May the Lord deliver our nation. Thank You, Jesus, for sparing our lives.”
