Jibrin Clarifies His Position on Tinubu vs Kwankwaso
During an appearance on Channels Television, Representative Abdulmumin Jibrin said he does not regret choosing to support President Bola Tinubu instead of his former political mentor, Rabiu Kwankwaso.
He stressed that his decision should not be interpreted as a betrayal, noting that Kwankwaso remains his benefactor and mentor.
I didn’t abandon him; they expelled me from the party. Kwankwaso is my benefactor and mentor. I will continue to respect him. I will never make any comment or join issues with him.

Jibrin added that he has consistently avoided publicly criticising leaders he once worked with, including Tinubu, even when he temporarily stepped away from the President’s campaign in 2022.
Jibrin Comments on Kano State Politics
The lawmaker also praised Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf for his efforts in strengthening the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.
After falling out with the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) and returning to the APC, Jibrin said he remains committed to party unity and respects his political mentors regardless of differing allegiances.
