Joseph Aloba, father of the late Nigerian singer Mohbad, has announced a condition for his son’s burial. He confirmed the interment will proceed immediately after the conclusion of the DNA test.
Aloba stated this in a widely circulated video. He called the DNA test the crucial factor delaying Mohbad’s interment. He confirmed the family would proceed with the burial once the DNA results are final.
Mr. Aloba emphasized the importance of the ongoing DNA court case. He explained this process has delayed Mohbad’s burial. “After the DNA is done,” he stated, “we will immediately move on to the burial.”
Mohbad’s Widow Takes Legal Action to Protect Estate
Meanwhile, Mohbad’s widow, Wunmi, has taken legal steps. She aims to prevent any unauthorized claim on the singer’s estate.
Her legal team, Salawu, Akingbolu & Co., confirmed her actions. Wunmi filed Form 5 and Form 6. These forms legally prevent issuance of Letters of Administration. This ensures only rightful parties control the estate.
The correspondence was signed by I. P. Awo (Esq.). It identifies Omowunmi as Mohbad’s legal wife. She is also the mother of his only child, Master Liam Aloba.
Wunmi explained that public announcements backed her legal action. These appeared in two national newspapers. They warned against “surreptitious or fraudulent attempts to claim the estate without proper legal process.”
Her legal team emphasized the notice is now in court records. It remains binding. This continues until the estate is properly and lawfully administered.
