Afrobeats sensation Davido has reacted. His uncle, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, suddenly exited the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Governor Adeleke’s aide, Olawale Rasheed, shared the resignation letter online. It stated the governor stepped down due to unresolved national party issues.
Governor Adeleke’s Resignation
The letter went to his Ward 2 chairman in Ede North. Adeleke thanked the PDP for its support. He cited his journey from senator to governor. However, he noted unresolved disputes. These issues made his continuation in the party impossible.

Davido reacted on his X page. He simply posted: “Jeje…”
Implications for Osun 2026
This announcement has made the Osun 2026 governorship primary uncertain. The Osun PDP postponed the primary. They cited internal disagreements. However, the party’s National Working Committee insisted the process must continue.
Governor Adeleke remains the sole candidate. He had purchased the form. This adds to the existing confusion.
Potential Move to Accord Party
Rumours now suggest Adeleke might seek re-election. He may do so under the Accord Party banner. Reports indicate some of his aides are joining the Accord Party. They are taking key positions within Osun.
He had previously tried to join the APC. Those attempts failed. APC leaders reportedly rejected his application.
