Nigerian actress and media personality, Oluwabukunmi Adeaga-Ilori, widely known as Kiekie, has shared a remarkable personal story. She recently revealed how a profound moment of deep prayer in 2018 completely altered the course of her career.
Kiekie recounted a time when her fashion business faced significant struggles. This overwhelming period left her feeling lost and unsure of her next steps.
The intense pressure led her to withdraw from everyone around her. For several days, she remained indoors, shutting out friends. She even pretended to have traveled, seeking quiet solitude to find answers.
During this intense period, she stayed in the same outfit, praying constantly. She barely ate. Her days were spent either on the floor or on her bed, crying out to God and desperately asking for a fresh start. She described those days as some of the toughest she had ever experienced.
The Turning Point
Her breakthrough came unexpectedly on the third or fourth day. A woman called her out of the blue, offering her a sewing job. Kiekie immediately rushed out to meet her. That single job proved to be the gateway to a much brighter phase in her professional life.
Since that pivotal moment in 2018, Kiekie’s work and life have seen consistent growth. She has enjoyed steady progress and success ever since.
Recalling the period, she stated, “I locked myself up for days. No food, no bathing, no change of clothes. I was practically on the floor crying. I told God, I need you to turn my life around.”
She added, “I hadn’t even had a bath. I just brushed and ran to Ikeja. That was the beginning. From 2018 till now, it has been fantastic, fantastic.”
