Veteran Nigerian music icon Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, has revealed his eldest son’s career aspirations. Nino Idibia, despite his father’s fame, will not follow him into the music industry.
Instead, the talented saxophonist has chosen a different path. Nino aims to become a medical doctor.
2Baba shared this news publicly at a recent Abuja event. The occasion marked his remarkable 25 years in the Nigerian music industry.
Introducing his son to the cheering crowd, 2Baba proudly announced, “Making some noise for my son Nino, mehn.” He then added, “He said he doesn’t want to be a singer. He wants to be a doctor.” This declaration drew enthusiastic applause.
Nino Idibia was born on January 15, 2006. His mother is Sumbo Adeoye, 2Baba’s former partner.
2Baba and Natasha Osawaru Welcome Baby Boy
In related news, 2Baba and Edo State lawmaker Natasha Osawaru have welcomed their first child. The couple announced the joyful arrival of a baby boy.
Speculation about the birth began earlier. Osawaru was reportedly seen at a hospital, fuelling labour rumours. Hours later, the lawmaker confirmed the news. She posted on her official Facebook page, stating they were “blessed with a baby boy.”
This baby’s arrival marks a significant new chapter. It adds to their well-publicised relationship. 2Baba and Osawaru formalised their union earlier this year. This followed the singer’s separation from Annie Idibia in January.

In July, the couple held a private traditional wedding in Abuja. Only close family members attended the low-key ceremony. Despite its privacy, the union continues to attract public interest.
