Former Big Brother Naija housemate, Boma Akpore, has revealed a significant personal setback. His relationship, which was once set for marriage, ended suddenly. The reason was his partner’s family, who ultimately rejected him.
The reality TV star shared his concrete plans for marrying the lady. He mentioned preparing to travel to the United States in August. His trip was solely to purchase an engagement ring.
Boma explained that the situation dramatically changed. His partner’s family intervened. They refused to accept him into their fold. Their decision was based on things they had “heard about him.”
According to the BBNaija star, his public image played a crucial role. This rejection, he believes, was a direct consequence of the scrutiny that comes with his celebrity status.
He recounted, “I met someone I truly liked. I was going to marry her. I planned to engage her last August. I was heading to America to get the ring because I truly adored her. I told her I would marry her.”
Boma continued, “It was an amazing relationship. We had minor ups and downs, but it felt perfect. I thought our relationship was flawless. That was until her family got involved. They flatly said, ‘This guy? Hell no, impossible.'”
“That development collapsed everything. It was very discouraging,” he admitted. “If I wasn’t in entertainment or the public eye, no one would know certain things about me. Once you step into the public, that’s the price you pay.”
