Popular Nigerian rapper Olamide, widely known as Olamide Baddo, has addressed a common misconception about his personality. He recently clarified that he is not shy, but rather “laid-back.”
During an interview, Olamide explained his stance. “One thing I wish people could understand about me is I am not shy, I am just laid back,” he stated.
When asked to differentiate between the two terms, the music executive emphasized that “shy” and “laid-back” are distinct. He elaborated, “Shy is when you don’t have the confidence and the charisma to stand people or look them in the eye or have conversations with them.”
In contrast, Olamide described being “laid-back” as simply preferring not to be bothered. He reiterated, “People think I am shy but I am not.”
Portable Claims Olamide Will Regret Not Signing Him
In a separate development concerning the music industry, controversial Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, famously known as Portable, recently made a bold assertion. He claimed that his senior colleague, Olamide, would ultimately regret not signing him to his record label.
Portable shared this view in a lengthy post on his Instagram story. He expressed his belief that he was destined for international stardom, despite facing numerous difficulties and professional disagreements early in his career.
The artist recounted his journey, describing how he rose from being a “local rapper” to achieving global recognition. He attributed his success to a combination of perseverance, divine intervention, and crucial backing from international artists like Skepta.
Portable unequivocally declared himself unstoppable. He stressed that Olamide would regret not supporting him, particularly because he was actively fighting for his own rights and path in the competitive music landscape.
