Nigerian gospel musicians have launched an urgent appeal for financial assistance to support their colleague Bunmi Akinnaanu, popularly known as Omije Ojumi. The singer faces severe financial strain while battling a critical leg condition.
The campaign gained momentum after Ojumi sought healing at G.F. David Ministries in Ibadan. Leading the effort, artist Lanre Alewilese shared an emotional Instagram video detailing her deteriorating health and financial crisis.
“She desperately needs your help NOW!” Alewilese declared. He publicly shared banking details while urging immediate donations.
Alewilese appealed for unity across music genres. “I plead with gospel, Juju, and Fuji artists,” he stated. “Let’s set aside differences to save Sister Bunmi Akinanu’s life.”
The artist expressed shock upon learning Ojumi’s condition worsened. “I believed God had healed her,” Alewilese revealed. “I didn’t know she’s been hospital-hopping desperately.”
Other celebrities joined the appeal, including Yinka Alaseyori, Olabest, and actress Foluke Daramola. They’re leveraging social media to mobilize donations, prayers, and emotional support nationwide.
