Nollywood stars Peggy Ovire and Taye Arimoro are embroiled in controversy following a reported physical confrontation during a movie shoot. Both actors have presented conflicting accounts of the violent incident that allegedly involved exchanged blows.
Arimoro’s Version of Events
Taye Arimoro disclosed via Instagram Live that the altercation began when he attempted to leave the set after his contractual time ended. He alleges Ovire and her team blocked his exit and assaulted him. “My car was obstructed and I was physically attacked by Peggy’s team,” Arimoro stated, showing apparent injuries to his gum and lips.
Ovire’s Counter Allegations
Peggy Ovire disputed Arimoro’s account, claiming the actor became aggressive when crew members requested completion of remaining scenes. “Taye assaulted two crew members simply because they lacked social media influence,” Ovire declared on Instagram. She detailed that Arimoro reacted violently when approached about the shoot schedule.
“You punched the production manager three times before your driver intervened,” Ovire alleged. She further reported her driver sustained a bleeding ear during the escalation but denied blocking Arimoro’s vehicle. Ovire insists Arimoro drove off while she stood beside the car.
The conflicting narratives have sparked intense debate within Nollywood circles. Industry professionals await further developments regarding this on-set altercation between the two prominent actors.
