Nollywood star Regina Daniels’ brother, Sammy West, has been remanded at Keffi Correctional Centre by the Dutse Magistrate Court in Abuja. The detention follows Sammy’s arrest in Lagos on Monday after Senator Ned Nwoko filed a formal complaint with police authorities.
Sammy’s brother, known publicly as Sweezy, raised alarms via Instagram stories alleging judicial interference. He claimed the presiding magistrate “suddenly disappeared,” preventing Sammy’s bail processing despite completed paperwork. Sweezy further questioned the arrest’s validity, stating his brother was denied access to legal counsel during initial detention.
Sweezy’s Social Media Appeal
In emotional posts, Sweezy directly addressed Senator Nwoko: “He is currently at Keffi prison. Dutse Magistrate has suddenly disappeared. Ned, you can pay everybody, but you cannot pay for integrity.”
He continued: “Everyone please help me ask Ned what is Sammy’s offense? My lawyers were en route but I couldn’t contact anyone. Bail documents are ready with no magistrate to sign them. You just want him to experience prison?”
Sweezy concluded with a pointed message: “Ned you can pay everybody but you can’t pay for integrity. You cannot surpass God’s authority.”
The family continues to seek clarity on the charges while Sammy remains incarcerated at the Keffi facility. The case has drawn significant attention within Nigeria’s entertainment and political circles.
