Alonso Expects Swift Adaptation for Rogers
Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso expressed confidence that club‑record signing Morgan Rogers will adapt quickly and make an immediate impact at Stamford Bridge.
The 24‑year‑old midfielder completed a £117 million move from Aston Villa, becoming the most expensive British player in history, and signed a six‑year contract with an option for an additional year.
Although Rogers is currently on holiday after representing England at the World Cup and Chelsea have begun their pre‑season tour in Sydney, Alonso sees no reason for concern about the player’s integration.
Rogers and Palmer Poised for a Strong Partnership
Alonso also believes Rogers can develop a formidable understanding with fellow England international Cole Palmer, describing the duo as players who can link up almost instantly.
The manager added that getting the right balance of special players in the correct positions will make Chelsea more competitive both with and without the ball.
