A young Nigerian woman has openly confronted her former partner and the father of her child, alleging that he has deserted their son and declined to contribute to his maintenance.
Hope Neche, the woman in question, shared these claims in an extensive Facebook update, urging the online community to encourage him to assume responsibility for their offspring.
Hope had earlier attracted widespread attention when she disclosed the breakdown of her marriage soon after giving birth to her first child.
Mother Alleges Paternal Neglect
According to her post, the final encounter between the father and their son occurred during her hospitalization, when she requested his temporary care for the boy.
She stated, “The only time he visited our son was when I pleaded with him to bring the boy to my home so I could be admitted to the hospital; he returned the child after I was released.”
She noted that, despite her medical condition, he showed no concern for her well-being and did not reply when she pleaded to see their child during her hospital stay.
She added, “While I was hospitalized, I implored him to bring our son so I could see him, fearing I might pass away without one final glimpse of my child; my former husband saw the message and chose not to respond.”
Supplies Have Run Out
Hope further claimed that the boy has not seen his father since the latter promised a visit.
She remarked, “He wept incessantly, and the woman I married assured him not to worry, saying he would see the child on Sunday; numerous Sundays have come and gone, yet the father remains absent.”
She also emphasized that she has been the sole provider for the child’s needs and urged him to contribute to the boy’s well-being.
She exclaimed, “His provisions have run out! I cannot exhaust myself trying to meet all his requirements while still scrambling for rent money.”
Mother Pledges to Continue Seeking Support
The woman accused her ex-partner of refusing to pay child support, even though he is the child’s father.
She declared, “You cannot evade your duty. On the night you impregn ought to have used a condom, yet you declined; despite my purchase of protection, you now refuse to provide child support after enjoying unprotected intercourse!”
She added, “While vengeance belongs to the Lord, I will confront you first — and anyone who attempts to defend you!”
