Sam Amadi Warns APC Faces Serious Crisis Ahead of 2027 Election
Sam Amadi, director of the Abuja School of Social and Political Thought, says the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) is experiencing a deep crisis even though it holds power.
He added that the backers of presidential hopeful Peter Obi, associated with the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), are expected to be the most dependable voters in the 2027 election.
Amadi noted that while the Obidient movement, the OK movement and the NDC itself may be facing difficulties, Obi’s supporters remain unaffected.
He wrote, “Obidient movement may be in crisis, OK movement may be in crisis, NDC may be in crisis.
“But most @PeterObi voters are not in crisis; they will be the most reliable voters in 2027.
“Apart from the official @OfficialAPCNg handle, there is no truly organized political party in Nigeria.
“The APC appears stable only because it controls patronage through incumbency, yet it is still in a serious crisis that will become evident as the election approaches.
“Nigeria has long been mired in crisis; this is nothing new. We will watch how these challenges unfold in 2027.
“What the country needs is a strong political movement that transcends these factions to rescue Nigeria. Hopefully, genuine reform will begin after 2027.
