A Nigerian woman became emotional after alleging that an inDrive driver assaulted her over a ₦600 fare disagreement, claiming she was humiliated when the driver refused to drop her off at her exact location.
Incident Details
She said she booked a ride from Magic Land to Yusuf Damdada Crescent. The driver halted midway, stating his navigation indicated arrival, and instructed her to walk the rest of the way home.
Her Statement
In a video posted on X (formerly Twitter), she recounted that the driver did not inquire about her exact house, merely said his map stopped there, and when she asked to be taken to her doorstep, he refused and told her to alight and walk because the distance was short.
Allegations of Confinement
The lady alleged that the driver locked her inside the vehicle before exiting to request payment.
Escalation of the Dispute
After waiting roughly twenty minutes, the driver forcibly removed her from the car when she insisted on subtracting ₦600 from the ₦6,100 fare to cover her own travel home.
Further Accusations
She further alleged that the driver slapped her, seized her bag, and harassed her publicly, noting that onlookers mostly sided with the driver, urging her to pay the full amount.
Company Response
She reported the incident to inDrive but expressed dissatisfaction with the reply, saying the firm only offered an apology without taking concrete action.
