A woman revealed a family conflict that arose after her UK-based aunt disclosed years of financial assistance she had been providing to a cousin who accused her of neglecting her origins.
She explained that the aunt visited Nigeria for Christmas last December and gave each adult family member ₦100,000. Although the gesture was welcomed, one cousin reportedly returned two days later asking for an extra ₦800,000 to launch a business.
The aunt refused the request, a decision that allegedly caused tension among relatives.

The lady said the cousin later posted in the family WhatsApp group, commenting, “Some people travel abroad and forget where they came from.”
Instead of engaging in an argument, the aunt shared screenshots proving she had been quietly covering the man’s children’s school fees and house rent for the previous three years.
The disclosure left many family members astonished, as most were unaware of the scale of her support.

Rather than showing gratitude, the cousin allegedly replied, “Was I supposed to be rolling on the floor for that?”
