The most notable movement among Africa’s leading nations came from Egypt, which rose to third on the continent after an impressive World Cup run that saw the Pharaohs reach the Round of 16 before falling 3‑2 to Argentina.
Morocco continued as Africa’s highest‑ranked side. The Atlas Lions moved up one place globally, from seventh to sixth, while keeping the top spot on the continent.
