During the video, she explained that she had asked her mother to stop including a spouse in her prayer requests and to concentrate on asking God for a breakthrough instead.
“So I told my mother today that if she is praying for me, she should not list a husband among the things I request from God,” she said.
“How can you claim to be seeking a breakthrough while asking God to give you a good husband? A husband is not a breakthrough.”
She noted that while residing in Lagos, her mother repeatedly inquired whether she had met someone who would eventually pay her bride price.
“I’ve been in Lagos and she kept saying, ‘Get a husband. Who are you with? Isn’t that person supposed to pay your bride price?’” she recalled.
The woman then decided to travel to her hometown, hoping her mother might have better luck locating a suitor.
“I figured, since I didn’t find a husband in Lagos, maybe the village will work. Can you help me find a husband?” she said.
However, she humorously revealed that after three days in the village, no progress had been made.
“I’ve been here for about three days now, and my mother still hasn’t introduced me to any man. So what I cannot obtain for myself, you cannot obtain for me.”
She Prioritizes Financial Breakthrough Over Marriage
The lady stressed that what she truly desires at this point in her life is a financial breakthrough rather than matrimony.
“Please, a husband is not part of my breakthrough prayers. I’m chasing money, not a spouse,” she declared.
She added that she would only entertain the idea of marriage if she encountered a man who genuinely supported her without later using his financial assistance against her.
“The husband I would consider marrying now—if he gives me money, he must not later hold it over me,” she said.
“If the husband provides everything I need right now, that’s fine. But if he doesn’t meet my current needs and forces me to keep struggling, I won’t accept it.”
She concluded by urging her mother and others to pray for her success instead of making marriage the focus of their supplications.
“Pray for a breakthrough for me, not for a husband.”
