A Nigerian woman has attracted widespread attention online after stating that her request for a United States visa was turned down by the US Embassy.
In a circulating video, she claimed that consular officers told her that foreign citizens, especially those from Nigeria, are presently barred from entering the United States.
She offered no official paperwork or embassy documentation to substantiate her assertion.
Her Account of the Embassy Interview
She explained that prior to her appointment she had encountered rumors claiming that the United States had stopped issuing visas to foreign nationals; although she initially regarded the rumors as unfounded, she chose to proceed with the interview.
She remarked, “Just left the US Embassy and guess what? My visa was denied again. The officials said that foreign nationals are currently not permitted to enter the United States.”
She noted that she was taken aback by the justification she reportedly received during the interview.
She added, “I had heard similar claims before my visa appointment, but I dismissed them as mere speculation.”
She further asserted that the consular staff informed her that even her children, who already possess valid US visas, would be barred from entry.
She said, “I decided to attend the interview anyway, and they told us that entry is prohibited at the moment, adding that even my children with existing US visas would not be allowed in.”
She Urges Others to Cancel Visa Appointments
Drawing from her own encounter, she urged fellow Nigerians who are considering a US visa application to reconsider scheduling an appointment.
She advised, “If you have already scheduled—or are planning to schedule—a US visa appointment, you should cancel it, as visas are not being issued at this time.”
In closing, she alleged that the United States is presently refusing entry to foreign nationals, with a particular emphasis on Nigerian citizens.
She concluded, “The United States is not admitting foreign nationals, especially Nigerians, at this time.”
