Manchester United Sign Karl Darlow and Keep Midfield Hunt Alive
Manchester United have completed the free‑transfer signing of veteran goalkeeper Karl Darlow, adding depth to their goalkeeping options ahead of the new season.
The 35‑year‑old Wales international penned a contract that runs until June 2028, with an optional extra year, and will serve as backup keeper at Old Trafford.
Darlow brings extensive experience, having made 279 senior appearances, including 74 Premier League outings, and kept five clean sheets while starting for Leeds United last season.
Despite the goalkeeper addition, United’s recruitment drive continues, with the club still seeking midfield reinforcements.
Transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano notes that United remain in the market for another midfielder, even after securing deals for Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans.
Santos has already been unveiled following his Chelsea move, while Tielemans has completed his medical and awaits official announcement.
With Casemiro expected to depart, United are targeting a defensive midfielder to strengthen the centre of the park.
