Nollywood actor Ray Emordi has announced his return to acting just a few months after he said he would quit the film industry to pursue music full‑time.
After a four‑month break from movie sets, Emordi says the time off helped him rediscover his love for acting.
He shared the news in a video on his YouTube channel, explaining the reasons behind his change of heart.
Emordi said his original decision to step away followed years of relentless work without adequate rest. Between 2017 and the end of 2025 he appeared in roughly 300 productions — feature films, TV series and short films.
The heavy schedule left him physically and mentally drained.
“Nollywood, I am sorry. I stopped acting because I was tired. Imagine acting from 2017 till the end of last year, about 300 productions. Eight years without vacations. If you do something too much, you naturally become exhausted. I have only myself to blame. I took on too many movies, and I didn’t manage the workload properly.”
He added, “This time I will limit myself to only enough work to satisfy me creatively without burning out. My goal in acting is not to make money but to leave a positive impact. I want to leave a positive footprint in the world before I go.”
