Bayelsa PDP Acknowledges Governor Diri's Resignation from Party

The Bayelsa State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has officially acknowledged the resignation of Governor Douye Diri from the party. In a statement released by the State Publicity Secretary, Ebiye Agu Ogoli, the party confirmed that it had received the Governor’s resignation letter and accepted his decision to step away from the party.

Party Leadership’s Response

During an emergency meeting of the PDP State Working Committee (SWC) held in Yenagoa, the state capital, party officials discussed the implications of the governor’s resignation. The leadership expressed appreciation for Governor Diri’s leadership and the positive relationships he maintained with stakeholders during his tenure. They emphasized that the party’s structures remain intact and fully operational across the state.

Commitment to Party Stability

The PDP reaffirmed its dedication to the core principles, goals, and objectives of the party. They assured all members that the party’s operations would continue without interruption and encouraged unity among members. The leadership also extended their best wishes to Governor Diri for his future endeavors.

Ebiye Agu Ogoli; the State Woman Leader, Hon. Christie Ebbeli; the State Legal Adviser, Barr. Christopher Kainga; the State Vice Chairman East, Barr. Obed Newman Andi; the State Vice Chairman West, Hon. Tobi Ebikidoumene; the State Financial Secretary, Chief Amalala Atua; the State Youth Leader, Hon. Oyisor Didi; and the State Auditor, Elder Akwakwa B. Akwakwa.
