A grateful individual has publicly thanked an unknown person for returning the full N1.8 million that was accidentally sent to their Opay wallet.

Initially, the sender feared the funds were lost after multiple attempts to reach the recipient went unanswered, as the phone was switched off.
After almost giving up, he tried calling again half an hour later.
When the recipient finally picked up, the sender explained the error and requested the money be returned.
As a token of gratitude, he offered to let the stranger keep N100,000, asking only for the remainder to be sent back.
Stranger Returns Full Amount
Recalling the event, the sender said, “I mistakenly transferred 1.8 million to someone’s Opay account, called the number and found it off, I was ready to give up. I tried again after 30 minutes, the person answered, I pleaded for the return, and suggested they could keep N100,000 while returning the rest.”
To his surprise, the stranger returned the entire sum without deducting the offered N100,000.
