Akin Olaiya Announces End of Marriage Less Than a Year After Wedding
Popular Yoruba film star Akin Olaiya has disclosed that his marriage to Nafeesat Feenah Hammed has collapsed, barely a year after the couple exchanged vows.
The actor said the wedding took place on June 29, 2025, at the Central Mosque in Sabo, Mokola, Ibadan, attended by close family and friends.
According to Olaiya, trouble began shortly after the ceremony when the pair were supposed to attend an event in Lagos. He claimed that his wife later told him she no longer wished to go.
He alleged that before he returned home that same day, Nafeesat had packed her belongings and left their matrimonial home without any prior notice or discussion.
Olaiya stated that he made multiple attempts to salvage the relationship, including contacting his wife directly and meeting with members of her family.
However, he said those reconciliation efforts were unsuccessful, as Nafeesat allegedly refused to return or continue the marriage.
In a formal dissolution notice, the actor declared that the marriage had officially ended and that Nafeesat Feenah Hammed is no longer his wife.
