Rashford Urges England to Raise Intensity Against Ghana
Marcus Rashford has called on England to turn up the pressure when they face Ghana, insisting that a relentless approach will be key to booking a place in the World Cup knockout stages with a match to spare.
The Three Lions opened their Group L campaign with a commanding 4‑2 victory over Croatia in Dallas. Harry Kane struck twice in an explosive first half, and after the break England took full control of the game.
Jude Bellingham added a goal early in the second half, and substitute Rashford finished the scoring, a performance that has lifted confidence throughout the squad.
With Ghana next on the schedule, Rashford believes England must replicate the same aggressive mindset that powered them to victory in their opening fixture.
“We have to bring an intensity they can’t live with and stick to that,” Rashford told the Football Association. “If we can play at that level, it can win you games.”
He added, “The one thing we can predict is how we conduct ourselves over 90 or 120 minutes. So we just have to focus on that as players, keep pushing ourselves — we’re definitely capable.”
