Sam Amadi Calls 2027 Election Nigeria’s Most Farcical
Director of the Abuja School of Social Thought and Politics, Sam Amadi, has declared that the upcoming 2027 general election will be the most farcical in Nigeria’s history.
In a post on X, Amadi argued that, despite the election’s absurdity, many self‑styled intellectuals and technocrats remain deeply involved in the process.
He contended that the real contest is not against incumbent President Bola Tinubu but against the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate, Peter Obi.
“Everyone is running against @PeterObi for the presidency, not against the incumbent president @officialABAT.”
Sam Amadi
Amadi added that this situation makes the 2027 race the most farcical ever witnessed, with certain self‑proclaimed experts fully immersed in its illogic.
Attacks on Peter Obi Fail to Dent His Popularity
Amadi also noted that attempts to undermine Obi’s credibility have not succeeded because there are no substantive allegations of corruption or scandal against him.
He referenced a comment by X user @RealQueenBee, who cited remarks from Okonkwo threatening to release damaging information if Obi’s supporters continued their online attacks.
Responding to that, Amadi said Obi’s appeal remains strong because his critics have presented no factual evidence capable of harming his reputation.
“Attacks against @PeterObi don’t stick much because he has little or nothing that is scandalous or corrupt. All the other presidential candidates today cannot boast of that record.”
Sam Amadi
His popularity endures, Amadi explained, because his detractors are merely expressing elitist disdain rather than delivering any verifiable wrongdoing.
He concluded that Obi remains the best option on the current presidential slate, despite ongoing criticism from political rivals.
