APC Chairman Admits Jealousy Over Wike’s Party Affiliation
The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nentawe Yilwatda, has openly said he feels jealous of Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, for remaining in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Yilwatda made the remark while representing President Bola Tinubu at a road‑flagging ceremony held to mark the president’s third anniversary in office.
During the event, the APC chairman praised Wike’s tireless work ethic, noting that he “doesn’t know when you sleep.” He described the minister as a workaholic whose efforts are evident across the FCT.
Expressing his desire, Yilwatda said:
“The workaholic, every working, and tireless Minister, and I don’t know when you sleep.
The Minister of FCT, Nyesom Wike, you know that I’m jealous that you are in the PDP, I wish I could corner you and bring you to APC.
But I’m happy that PDP borrowed you to us in 2023 and I saw your letter then to the National Working Committee of PDP borrowing you to us.
I don’t know that it would lead to such a remarkable feat by you that what APC can do, some of the PDP members can also do it.”
The comment underscores the ongoing political camaraderie and rivalry between the two major parties, highlighting how leaders from opposite sides often acknowledge each other’s contributions while seeking to strengthen their own ranks.
